The funding providers are increasingly anchoring the handling of research data in their guidelines for funded projects. The FWF, as the largest Austrian sponsor, sees "open science" as one of the key aspects for participation in its future funding programs.
Open Science, Open Data, Citizen Science, Open Government is used as a generic term with the aim of publicizing as many results of research funded by public funds as possible. In order to achieve the specifications of "open science", a change from "science" to "eScience" - "research carried out on the basis of digital infrastructure" is taking place more and more quickly (Wikipedia ). This results in a complex research process in which the handling of data as well as the handling of publications is regulated.
