The predecessor project e-Infrastructures Austria had been initiated in 2014 by the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (BMWFW) in order to promote the coordinated development and further development of repository infrastructure throughout Austria. This was to ensure the secure archiving and provision of electronic publications, multimedia objects and other digital data from research and teaching.
